The Ohio State Buckeyes Beat FAMU By 76

As anyone might have predicted, the Ohio State Buckeyes dismantled the outmatched Florida A&M University Rattlers 76-0. Backup QB Kenny Guiton set a new school record with 6 touchdown passes. This is especially impressive when you consider the fact that Guiton didn't even play most of the second half. It only took the Buckeyes 4 plays to score 3 touchdowns. Guiton threw 4 touchdowns in the first quarter alone and it was obvious that No. 4 Ohio State was far too much for FAMU.

By the time the Rattlers achieved their first first down, they were already behind 48-0 and had no chance of coming back. The Ohio State University racked up an astronomical 603 yards of total offense while limiting FAMU to a mere 80 yards. Even backup running back Ezekiel Elliot ran for 2 touchdowns in the second half. The true freshman has seemed to jump over 2 highly rated sophomores, Dunn and Ball, that haven’t seen much playing time this year.

Given the impressive play of Kenny Guiton, Ohio State football head coach Urban Meyer may have a QB controversy on his hands.   Braxton Miller was a Heisman Trophy front runner when the 2013 season began but Guiton's excellent play and the ease with which he controls the offense may make it difficult for the coach to reinsert Miller when he finally returns from the knee injury (MCL strain) which has kept him out of the past 2 games. Although Miller remains the starter until something more serious happens.

Ohio State scored 34 points in the first quarter of Saturdays rout and another 21 points in the second quarter. They then added the two Elliott TD runs in the third quarter for another 14 points and topped the game off with a 10 yard Cardale Jones TD run. The buckeyes get their first real test of the season next week in their big 10 opener against No. 24 Wisconsin. FAMU probably wasn’t a great way to prepare for Wisconsin but more difficult games against California and Buffalo will hopefully have been enough to prepare the OSU football team for the regular Big Ten conference schedule.
