Terrelle Pryor Suffers a Quad Strain but OSU Defeats Illinois

When Terrelle Pryor went to the locker room with a quad strain in the 3rd quarter, the Buckeyes looked poised to win by a slim margin or give up their slim lead to the Fighting Illini. Pryor had provide a 14-10 lead for the Buckeyes but couldn’t do anything from the sidelines as Joe Bauserman replaced him and went 1-2 with an interception. Some warmth and a rap allowed Pryor to return and OSU secured the win in the fourth quarter with a 6 yard touchdown run by Daniel Boom Herron.

In line to win the Heisman in his junior season, Terrelle Pryor cannot afford to sit out a tight game on the road and thankfully returned after a trip to the locker room in Campaign this past Saturday. Getting Pryor ready for the Wisconsin game has now become Ohio State’s first priority. He could play this coming weekend at home against Indiana but if the Buckeyes score early, look for backups Joe Bauserman and Kenny Guiton to handle most of the attempts at the quarterback position.

As the Illinois game came to a close Ohio State was glad that their defensive was able to bottle up the Illini running backs and keep their opponent under 14 points. 24-13 was too close for many Buckeye fans while Head Coach Jim Tresell reminded everyone in his post game meeting that the Big Ten is a difficult league and the wind in Champaign can cause all kinds of problems for an offense.

Pryor finished the game 9 for 16 with 76 yards and 2 touchdown throws. He also led the team in rushing with 104 yards. For the season he has 12 touchdowns to 3 interceptions and leads the team rushing the ball at 373 yards and 3 touchdowns. Boom Herron is second in rushing for both the Illinois game and the season and looks to be the most reliable option at tailback for the Buckeyes. When Ohio State needed to run time off the clock and secure the win this weekend, Herron was their answer.
