Ohio State v Indiana Preview

This Saturday (12:00 pm) in Ohio Stadium the Indiana Hoosiers well battle the #2 Ohio State Buckeyes. Indiana enters the game 3-1 with wins against Towson, Western Kentucky and Akron. Ohio State is undefeated at 5-0, most recently traveling to Illinois with a win in Champaign 24-13. They enter the game ranked 5th in the country in turnover margin. Head Coach Jim Tresell can secure his 100th win with the Buckeyes if the heavily favored OSU team can win this weekend.

Ohio State enters the game with two of their starting safeties out for the season and quarterback Terrelle Pryor nursing a strained quad muscle. Yet the Buckeyes showed last week that they can still grind out a win with great defensive and long drives on the ground behind junior tailback Daniel Boom Herron. Herron leads a deep ground of running backs on the season with 287 yards and five touchdowns.

Indiana has a quality passing attack this season and put up some decent numbers in a loss to Michigan last week 42-35. Starting quarterback Ben Chappell is 116-162 for 1370 yards and 12 touchdowns with only 1 interception for the year. They have a number of prolific receivers including Damarlo Belcher and Tandon Doss both average near 100 yards a game. Their passing offense is ranked first in the Big Ten. Likewise, Ohio State’s passing defense is the best in the Big Ten.

Ohio State won the last time the teams played on their way to an 11-2 2009 season and a Rose Bowl victory against Oregon.
