Terrelle Pryor is Big Ten Player of the Week

Terrelle Pryor was named the offensive Player of the Week for the Big Ten conference after a spectacular performance against Eastern Michigan were he was a part of 6 touchdowns. He passed for four touchdowns, ran one touchdown in, and caught a pass from running back Jordan Hall for another. The Buckeyes beat EMU 73-20 on Saturday in Ohio Stadium.

By Steve Patterson

The game against Eastern Michigan was Ohio State’s highest scoring game in 60 years and the highest in Jim Tressel’s tenure as Head Coach. Pryor was 20-26 (76.9%) passing on the day with 226 yards. He ran for 104 yards (14.9 yards per carry) with a long touchdown run of 53 yards and caught a twenty yard pass for a touchdown. All four passing touchdowns went to senior wide receiver Dane Sanzenbacher who had a record day.

The last time Ohio State scored as many points was in 1950 against Iowa when they scored 83 points. This was Pryor’s first Big Ten Player of the Week award surprisingly. Pryor moves firmly into the lead for the Heisman after such an outstanding performance, in my opinion and in the opinion of many reporting the game.
